ClarroxWeb designed a dark, instrument-grade site with an interactive spectrum library, turning hard photonics into something a grower or researcher can see and operate in seconds.
Challenge
Phyylumen sells research-grade hardware to plant scientists and commercial growers. That audience is technical and skeptical, used to datasheets, so a site full of soft marketing language would have read as a warning sign.
- Precision has to be shown, not stated. Claims of control mean little to a researcher without evidence.
- A complex product is hard to grasp fast. Custom-binned LEDs, wavelengths, and photoperiods are a lot to absorb on a homepage.
- Credibility is the conversion. The site had to feel like an instrument from a lab, not a consumer electronics ad.
Approach
ClarroxWeb designed the site as a piece of equipment. A near-black canvas, mono-spaced technical labels, and live sensor-style readouts frame Phyylumen as a serious research company from the first frame.
The centerpiece is an interactive spectrum library. Visitors drag a wavelength scrubber from 380 to 720 nanometers and watch the plant response change in real time, which replaces a block of specification with something they operate directly. Around it, the site lays out the system in clear stages, source, control, measurement, and form, then grounds it in real applications from vertical farms to pharmaceutical cultivation.
Motion is purposeful throughout, with a spectral text reveal and scroll-linked transitions that signal engineering rather than decoration.
