Wren & Halford
Boutique Advisory
A two-partner advisory practice wanted a website that made its size a feature, not an apology. ClarroxWeb designed an editorial, magazine-quality site built around the idea of considered counsel, so a small firm reads as the most deliberate choice in the room.
Challenge
Boutique advisory work is sold on judgment and access to the principals, yet small firms often look tentative online. Wren & Halford needed a presence with the confidence of a much larger name without pretending to be one.
- Small can read as slight. Without the right design, a two-partner firm looks under-resourced rather than focused.
- The promise is the partners. Buyers want direct access to senior people, and the site had to make that the selling point.
- Tone is everything. For committed leaders choosing counsel, the feel of the site is the first test of fit.
Approach
ClarroxWeb built the site as an editorial publication. A deep forest-green and brass palette, serif headlines with a word-by-word reveal, and a subtle paper-grain texture give the practice the weight of a long-established house.
A Roman-numeral wayfinding system guides visitors through the practice, its people, a ledger of engagements, and a set of essays, framing the firm as thoughtful rather than transactional. The structure puts the two partners forward as the product, with the writing and the work doing the persuading. Restrained scroll motion keeps the experience calm and confident, never busy.
Results
- A small firm that reads as substantial, with the polish of an established house.
- Two partners positioned as the offer, front and center rather than hidden behind a brand.
- A considered, editorial tone that pre-qualifies the right kind of client.
- Calm, deliberate motion that reinforces judgment over hard sell.
Client testimonial
“We are deliberately small, and the site makes that a strength rather than something to explain away. It sets the tone for the kind of clients we want before a word is exchanged.”
